About TCS NQT 2025

The TCS National Qualifier Test (NQT) is a competitive exam designed to assess candidates’ engineering skills and problem-solving abilities. Successful candidates will be considered for various roles based on their test performance and interview rounds.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualifications:

  • Candidates from the batch of 2025 with the following degrees are eligible:
    • Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) / Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.)
    • Master of Technology (M.Tech) / Master of Engineering (M.E.)
    • Master of Computer Applications (MCA)
    • Master of Science (M.Sc. / M.S.) in any specialization
    • Degrees must be from AICTE/UGC-recognized universities/colleges

Academic Performance:

  • Minimum 60% aggregate or 6 CGPA throughout academics (including highest qualification) till the latest declared semester results
  • If selected, candidates must provide a degree/provisional certificate stating they cleared Engineering in First Class within the stipulated course duration

Backlogs & Gaps:

  • No active backlogs at the time of the selection process
  • No extended education beyond the stipulated duration
  • Educational gaps must not exceed 24 months (valid documents required)

Other Eligibility Conditions:

  • Work Experience: Up to 2 years (only for post-graduate students)
  • Age Requirement: Between 18 to 28 years
  • Course Type: Only full-time courses (Part-time/correspondence courses are not considered)
  • Open Schooling: Candidates from NIOS (National Institute of Open Schooling) are eligible if their graduation/post-graduation was full-time

Application Process

Step 1: Log in to the TCS NextStep Portal

Step 2: Register and Apply for the Drive

  • Scenario A: If already registered under ‘IT’ category, log in with TCS Reference ID (CT/DT number) and click Apply For Drive.
  • Scenario B: If new, register under ‘IT’ category, fill details, submit the application, and click Apply For Drive.

Step 3: Select In-center mode, choose 3 preferred test centers, and apply.

Step 4: Check ‘Track Your Application’ status – it should show “Applied for Drive”.

Important Notes

  • Candidates must carry original academic documents at the time of the interview.
  • All official test communications will come from TCS iON.
  • TCS does not charge money or engage third-party agencies for hiring.
  • If found ineligible at any stage, the candidate’s application will be disqualified.
