Job Responsibilities
As a Software Development Engineer at Amazon, you will:
- Build scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems for storage, indexing, and querying at massive scale
- Design prediction systems using large-scale distributed infrastructure
- Collaborate with multiple teams to launch new products and services from scratch
- Work in an agile, fast-paced environment and deliver high-quality code
- Drive best engineering practices and participate in design discussions
Required Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals – data structures, algorithms, OOP
- Good coding skills in Java, C, C++, or Python
- Familiar with databases, DBMS, and software design principles
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team environment
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Linux or UNIX-based systems
- Knowledge of scripting languages like Perl
- Exposure to multi-tiered architectures and distributed systems
- Internship experience is a plus but not mandatory
- Familiarity with optimization or mathematical modeling is a bonus
