Job Description
MaxVal is looking for a Data Analyst to join their Patent Renewals team. This role requires meticulous attention to detail and strong data analysis skills to ensure the accuracy and compliance of intellectual property payments.
Responsibilities:
- Review and report patent data errors to mitigate risks.
- Conduct 100% accurate data audits with patent office registers.
- Analyze large datasets using Excel (IF, SUM, INDEX, MATCH, VLOOKUP).
- Develop simple automations using VBA (preferred but not mandatory).
- Compare and validate large data files for accuracy.
- Perform reconciliations and maintain up-to-date client portfolios.
- Validate renewal reports to ensure accuracy in due dates.
- Address client IP payment errors and manage IP rules for different jurisdictions.
- Utilize data trends and key metrics for reporting and process improvement.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Science, Commerce, Finance, or Engineering.
- Experience: 0+ years (prior exposure to Finance or IP is a plus).
- Analytical Skills: Strong ability to assess portfolio data.
- Software Proficiency: Expertise in Microsoft Excel and knowledge of patent management software is a plus.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal skills.
- Attention to Detail: High accuracy in documentation and data validation.
- Task Management: Ability to prioritize and work independently.
