Job Responsibilities
As a Jr. Software Platform Engineer at MetLife, you will:
- Design and develop cloud-based hybrid mobile applications from scratch.
- Build scalable and resilient microservices using modern frameworks.
- Create and configure CI/CD pipelines and build systems.
- Develop highly reusable and reliable UI components.
- Take ownership of systems and ensure high-quality solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Write clean, maintainable code aligned with industry standards.
- Contribute throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Demonstrate ownership, initiative, and leadership in solutions delivery.
- Analyze problems, evaluate trade-offs, and implement effective solutions.
Required Skills
- Strong hands-on experience in Core Java and Advanced Java.
- Familiarity with Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and Microservices.
- Knowledge of message queues, MongoDB/NoSQL databases, and Redis.
- Exposure to Docker, Jenkins/Bamboo, CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with build tools like Maven/Gradle, Webpack/Gulp.
- Frontend expertise in JavaScript (ES6), ReactJS/React Native, AngularJS, or Node.js.
- Ability to work in Agile environments with minimal guidance.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Eligibility Criteria
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance/Accounts, or related field.
- 0 to 3 years of professional experience in software development.
- Passion for learning new technologies and adapting to changing environments.
